April 4, 2012 Approved Planning Board <br />Minutes <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Glenn Bowles, Planner 11,245 -2577 <br />Michael Harvey, Planner III, 245 -2597 <br />Craig Benedict, Director, 245 2575 <br />PURPOSE: To receive the Planning Board recommendation, close the public hearing, and <br />make a decision on a Planning Director initiated Unified Development Ordinance (hereafter <br />'UDO') text amendment relating to the creation of the Rural Economic Development Area <br />Conditional Zoning District (REDA- CZ -1). <br />BACKGROUND: This item was presented at the February 27, 2012 Quarterly Public Hearing. <br />Minutes from the hearing are contained within Attachment 4. <br />Proposed amendments include: <br />1. Creation of a new Conditional Zoning District, REDA -CZ -1, applicable only to those <br />properties identified within the adopted NC Highway 57 Speedway Area Small Area Plan, <br />2. Establishing a list of permitted uses within the aforementioned district, and <br />3. Establishing development criteria for certain uses. <br />Attachment 1 contains additional information and analysis regarding this amendment. <br />Planning Board Discussion: The Planning Board reviewed this item at its April 4, 2012 regular <br />meeting.
