ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: June 5, 2012 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 5 — _F <br />SUBJECT: Renewal of Contracts with In -Home Aide Providers to Provide In -Home Aide <br />Services to Eligible Adults <br />DEPARTMENT: Social Services and Aging PUBLIC HEARING: (Y /N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Nancy Coston, 245 -2800 <br />Sample Contract with Attachments Janice Tyler, 968 -2071 <br />There are six total contracts for In -Home <br />Aides that are the same. <br />PURPOSE: To continue the contracts to provide In -Home Aide Services with Arcadia Health <br />Services, Inc., Premier Home Health Care Services, Inc., Personalized Patient Home <br />Assistance, Inc., CNC Access, Inc., Flaircare, Inc., and TAW L.L.C. for eligible adults using a <br />joint contract between the Department of Social Services and the Department on Aging and the <br />Contractor. <br />BACKGROUND: The Department of Social Services and Department on Aging provide In- <br />Home Aide Services to older and disabled adults. In -Home Aide involves the provision of <br />paraprofessional services that assist functionally impaired older or disabled adults and /or their <br />families with essential home management and personal care and /or supervision to enable the <br />adult to remain at home as long as possible. These services vary in terms of amount and <br />duration as indicated on an individualized case plan developed by County staff. <br />In an effort to streamline the contracting and approval process, the Department of Social <br />Services and Department on Aging have developed a joint contract template to use with In- <br />Home Aide Providers. The Departments contract with six providers to perform In -Home Aide <br />Services for clients. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Social Services has requested $415,647 in the FY 2012 -13 budget for <br />in -home services provided by these six providers. This amount is the same as the current year. <br />$207,824 of these costs will be paid with State and Federal dollars. Aging has requested <br />$75,000 for in -home services provided by these six providers. This amount is the same as the <br />current year. <br />
