These eight people could be given random terms and the
other two people could be placed in the other term positions.
Clerk to the Board Donna Baker said that the term slots are already set, but the people
just need to be placed.
Commissioner Jacobs said that the length of term is irrelevant to the board getting to
work immediately.
VOTE: Ayes, 2; Nays, 5 (AYES-Commissioner Jacobs and Commissioner Gordon)

A motion was made by Commissioner Yuhasz, seconded by Commissioner Hemminger
to assign the staggered terms randomly now.
VOTE: Ayes, 5; Nays, 2 (Commissioner Gordon and Commissioner Jacobs)

C. Orange County Transit Plan and Related Agreements
The Board considered adoption of the Orange County Transit Plan and considered
approval of the Durham/Orange Cost Share Agreement, the Orange County/Triangle Transit
Implementing Agreement and the Do Not Levy Agreement and authorizing the Chair to sign if
approved.
Chair Pelissier referred to a handout at the County Commissioners' places in reference
to the Regional Transportation Alliance's recent transit poll. It shows that the support for transit
in Orange County has remained consistent over the past three years.
