knows that Carrboro is very concerned about the impacts of this school on their proposal to <br />DOT for the improvements to Smith Level Road. <br />A motion was made by Chair Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Brown to refer <br />addendum B to the Carrboro Board of Aldermen far review within their two next regularly <br />scheduled meetings. <br />Commissioner Halkiotis said that the Carrboro process could take months and he <br />does not want to drag this process out for months. He is against it unless it is within two <br />meetings. <br />Commissioner Gordon said that she has a problem with referring the entire <br />addendum B, which is part of the County's CIP process. The agreement has to do with the CIP <br />process, and the County has never asked a jurisdiction to comment on this process in this way. <br />The maximum items that she could see forwarding to Carrboro would be 1, 2, 7, and 8. <br />Chair Jacobs said that he is content with it the way it is. <br />VOTE: Ayes, 4; No, 1 (Commissioner Gordon) <br />Chair Jacobs said that the Planning staff and school staffs could work together, <br />which could help to expedite things. <br />d. <br />The Board was to receive a preliminary report on the student membership and <br />capacity of the Orange County Schools (OCS) and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools <br />{CHCCS) as of November 15, 2003, and on related issues as outlined in the draft Annual <br />Report of the SAPFO Technical Advisory Committee {SAPFOTAC). <br />Deferred to May 4~" <br />e. Appointments <br />(1) Arts Commission <br />The Board considered one appointment to the Arts Commission. <br />Commissioner Brown nominated Geoffrey Hathaway. <br />Chair Jacobs nominated Annette Smith. <br />Commissioner Gordon nominated Lori Alexander. <br />Commissioner Gordon then withdrew her nomination and went with Geoffrey Hathaway. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Brown, seconded by Commissioner Gordon to <br />appoint Annette Smith and Geoffrey Hathaway to At-Large Positions with terms to expire March <br />31.2007. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />(2) Carrboro NTA (Northern Transition Area) Advisory Committee <br />The Board considered an appointment to the Carrboro NTA {Northern Transition Area} <br />Advisory Committee. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by Commissioner Brown to <br />appoint Nancy Salmon to the Carrboro NTA (Northern Transition Area) Advisory Committee. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />(3) Carrboro Planning Board <br />The Board considered one appointment to the Carrboro Planning Board. <br />Commissioner Brawn nominated Caroline Wood. <br />Commissioner Carey nominated David Clinton. <br />The following vote was for Caroline Wood. <br />VOTE: Ayes, 3; Nays, 2 (Commissioner Carey and Commissioner Gordon} <br />(4) Commission for Women <br />The Board considered appointments to the Commission for Women (CFW). <br />
