In collaboration with clients from across the country, Clarion has received recognition for numerous <br />planning effc rts. <br />2007 APA Daniel Burnham Award <br />for Comprehensive Plan <br />PlanCheyenne — Cheyenne, Wyoming I Comprehensive Plan Up- <br />date,, Transportation Plan, and Parks and Recreation Master Plan <br />Clarion Associates worked with the Cheyenne Metropolitan Plan - <br />ning Organization to lead a, project to update the area's commu- <br />nity plan, transportation plan, and develop a parks and recreation <br />plan for the City of Cheyenne and portions of Laramie County sur- <br />rounding the city. Cheyenne is located at the northern end of the <br />Rocky Mountain Front Range of the Denver Metropolitan area. <br />PlanCheyenne provides directions on a host of growth issues such <br />as rural development patterns and agricultural conservation, nat- <br />ural areas and open space conservation, mixed -use development <br />and activity centers, neighborhoods as building blocks, "raising the <br />bar" on design quality, and preserving the community's historic <br />downtown core. <br />2006 South Carolina Chapter of <br />APA Multi- Jurisdiction Award <br />Beaufort County, South Carolina' 1 Southern Regional Plan <br />Clarion Associates, in association with Tischler Associates, devel- <br />oped a regional plan for Southern Beaufort _County, the fastest <br />growing county in South Carolina. In an innovative approach, <br />Clarion Associates worked with staff and representatives from the <br />County, the Town of Bluffton, the Town of `Hilton Head Island, and <br />key stakeholders from the area. This collaborative effort created. a <br />long- lasting regional cooperation effort between the local munic- <br />ipalities and county government, as well as focus specifically on <br />the evaluation of four key regional issues: land use, natural re- <br />sources, transportation, public facilities, and costs of growth. All <br />local governments adopted the plan in 2006 and are well into de- <br />" veloping the mechanisms and growth management tools to im- <br />plement the Regional Plan. <br />
