C .r <br />s <br />a <br />C L A R 1 O N <br />regarding information needing to be updated, and what additional information is <br />needed to prepare this Master Plan. <br />Existing and recent relevant initiatives will be reviewed to determine what <br />information from those initiatives needs to be considered in preparation of the <br />Mf.ster Plan for this site. Examples of initiatives to be reviewed: <br />• Carolina North Proposals and Development Agreement <br />• Planned transportation improvements and studies <br />• Chapel Hill 2020 <br />• Orange County Comprehensive Plan <br />• Nearby development proposals under consideration (e.g., the Retreat <br />residential development proposed along Homestead Road) <br />A Summary matrix will be constructed that synthesizes and organizes these key <br />facts and ideas from each initiative. This summary matrix will serve as a key <br />po int of reference throughout the Master Plan project. <br />TASK 2: ASSEMBLE BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br />CLARION TEAM: <br />(75-100 conultant hours) <br />ORANGE COUNTY STAFF: <br />Prepare summary of data, regulations, plans, studies, and conditions. <br />Gather information, review and comment on summary. <br />Prepare Summary Matrix. <br />Review and comment on matrix. . <br />Prepare series of GI i maps. <br />Assist in gathering GIS layers for mapping. <br />SCHEDULE <br />Completed: 2 months after Project Initiation <br />TASK 3: COMMUNITY OUTREACH <br />In Task 3, identified stakeholders will be interviewed to gain perspectives on the <br />si :e and facilities proposed for consideration, to clarify opportunities and <br />e3 pectations, and to understand constraints. The approaches and techniques to <br />this early community outreach and stakeholder involvement will be determined <br />during Task 1. Interviews will include both internal stakeholders (County <br />Departments providing services) and external stakeholders (users of County <br />services and neighbors of the site). <br />A Public Information Meeting will be scheduled and conducted, with <br />appropriate notifications and publicity. The purpose will be to explain the <br />Master Plan initiative and process for constructing a Master Plan, and to hear <br />from the community what considerations are most important to have on the table <br />a: work on the Master Plan proceeds. <br />Southern Orange Campus Piaster Plan Page 1.4 <br />
