Harvey, Planner III 245 -2597 <br />Craig Benedict, Director 245 -2575 <br />PURPOSE: To hold a public hearing and receive comment on a Class A Special Use Permit <br />application in accordance with Section 2.7 Special Use Permits and Section 5.9.3 of the Orange <br />County Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). <br />BACKGROUND: On March 16, 2012 staff received an application proposing the development of a <br />public utility facility, specifically a 5 megawatt solar array, on a portion of a 122 acre parcel of <br />property owned by the John Bradshaw Family Limited Partnership off of White Cross Road. <br />The basic facts of the application are as follows: <br />Applicant: Strata Solar Bradshaw Family Partnership <br />1119 US 15 -501 Hwy South 2227 Wildcat Creek Rd <br />Suite 101 Chapel Hill, NC 27516 <br />Chapel Hill, NC 27516 <br />Agent(s): Strata Solar <br />Location: White Cross Road (Please refer to Attachment 2 for a vicinity map <br />of the project) <br />Parcel Information: a. PIN(s): 9748 -34 -9639. <br />b. Size of parcel(s): 122 acres. <br />Strata Solar is proposing to lease approximately 53 acres of the <br />property to support the proposed utility operation. <br />c. Zoning of parcel(s): Agricultural Residential (AR). A portion of <br />the property, south of an existing stream, is also located within <br />the Haw River Protected Watershed Overlay District. <br />
