FISCAL IMPACT <br /> New development projects are expected to utilize engineered stormwater best <br /> management practices (BMPs) to meet the state mandated development standards. <br /> Developers will need more land on any given development to achieve this. Exact <br /> cost to developers is undetermined at this time. Staff estimates that on average the <br /> new requirements could increase development cost by a few hundred dollars for new <br /> single family residences to hundreds of thousands for larger, commercial projects. <br /> As a result, the associated workload for Current Planning and Erosion Control <br /> Stormwater Division staff to review and approve stormwater .management plans <br /> required by the rules is expected to increase. Workload for Erosion Control / <br /> Stormwater Division staff to inspect BMPs is also expected to increase. This may <br /> necessitate an increase in fees charged to developers. At this time it is expected <br /> that new rules may require one up to one additional FTE for Erosion Control / <br /> Stormwater staff with an approximate cost of $65,000. Staff will evaluate workload <br /> and evaluated needs as the process moves forward. <br /> D. AMENDMENT IMPLICATIONS <br /> The state required development standards are more restrictive than those currently <br /> enforced in the UDO. As stated above, this is expected to increase the cost of <br /> development and increase staff workload. <br /> 3 <br />
