Your property is within the area impacted <br />by one of these proposed changes. The proposed changes, summarized below, are <br />intended to support the goals and objectives of I the Orange County Board of <br />Commissioners and the Durham City Council. <br />Neighborhood Information Meeting <br />The first event is a neighborhood information meeting to learn about and provide input <br />on proposed land use and zoning map changes for the area. The meeting will be jointly <br />hosted by the Orange County Planning and Inspections Department and the Durham <br />City - County Planning Department and will take place on Wednesday, February 22, <br />2012 at 6:00 pm at the Murphey School (3717 Murphey School Rd., Durham, NC <br />27705). Interested persons are encouraged to attend this neighborhood meeting to <br />learn more about this proposal. A map of the area to be addressed Is Included. <br />Orange County Joint Public Hearing, <br />The second event is a Joint Public Hearing of the Orange County Board of <br />Commissioners and Orange County Planning Board on the proposed changes on <br />Monday, February 27, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Department of Social Services, located <br />at 113 Mayo Street (Hillsborough Commons Shopping Center) in Hillsborough, North <br />Carolina. Interested persons are invited to address the boards with their comments <br />regarding the proposed land use and zoning map changes at this Joint Public Hearing. <br />Background & Purpose of Proposed Changes <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners adopted the Eno Economic Development <br />District Small Area Plan in June 2008. This Plan endorsed the establishment of an <br />interlocal agreement between Orange County and the City of Durham that would allow <br />the extension of Durham's water and sewer services into a portion of Orange County <br />within Durham's Urban Growth Area. The purpose of the proposed amendments is to <br />implement recommendations in the Eno Economic Development District Small Area <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
