3 <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: <br />1) Adopt the attached `Policies and Procedures' for the Economic Development Advisory <br />Board, and <br />2) Select ten (10) individuals from the table provided in Attachment 2, according to the <br />following numbers and categories (from Section III. B. 1. of the `Policies and <br />Procedures"). Please note that several individuals may be cross-listed as <br />representatives in more than one category: <br />a. Choose F/VE individuals from Orange County's core business community, which <br />includes banking, construction, manufacturing, architecture, real estate, legal, <br />development, utility management, etc. <br />b. Choose ONE individual who represents the aqriculture sector, <br />c. Choose ONE individual actively involved in entrepreneur activities; <br />d. Choose ONE individual representing the Universitv of North Carolina at Chapel <br />Hill, preferably involved in the development activities, such as planning for Carolina <br />North, or on the foundation side of business development; <br />e. Choose ONE individual representing the tourism sector represented by an <br />individual involved in retail and/or hospitality, such as a restaurant or hotel <br />manager, or someone involved in the arts; <br />f. Choose ONE individual representing the nonprofit sector. <br />
