3 <br />`i~ ~S` - ~~~ l~- ~d ~ 1 - ~ ~ - a 1 <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS s< <br />RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SUPPORT TO THE MENTAL HEALTH <br />ASSOCIATION ~~ ROUP HOME FOR ADULTS WITH MENTAL <br />ESTABLISH A NE <br />ILLNESS <br />WHEREAS, the Mental Health Association in Orange County (MHA/OC) includes as <br />part of its mission the initiation of housing resources for people with mental illness; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mental Health Association in North Carolina assists its affiliates with <br />application to HUD for Section 8-11 funds for the construction of group homes for adults <br />with mental illness; and <br />WHEREAS, the Division of Mental Health provides operational costs for said homes; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the management team of OPC Area Program has indicated its desire to <br />administer a new group home in Orange County and supplement operational costs; and <br />WHEREAS, the MHA/OC has requested the Board of County Commissioners pledge its <br />support of this housing endeavor; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED I Bon theEBoa dn upports the ppli ation <br />Commissioners that, by approval of this reso , <br />to HUD for funds to build a new group home in Northern Orange County for adults with <br />mental illness. <br />This the 18th day of January, 2001. <br />
