Commissioner Gordon asked if the comprehensive plan was in the shape that the Planning
Board would want it to go out. Some people have articulated concerns to her.
Nicole Gray-Smith said that the main concern for her is how the outreach is done for the
comprehensive plan. The outreach should be done in an accessible manner.
Craig Benedict said that the rural character group said that it should not be too "planning
heavy". The plan is to have a high interaction/low presentation format with an open house. The
members of the Planning Board that represent the townships could come to the meeting. There
could be signs put up, and it could still be done this fiscal year. He suggested hiring a
consultant to talk about transferable development rights. He thinks there should be some end
paint; otherwise it will go an and on.
Crauford Goodwin made reference to a group that he was a part of and the education that was
done and hardly anyone showed up. It also should be clear to the citizens that
it makes a difference if they shave up.
Commissioner Halkiotis made reference to Timberlyne Shopping Center and said that
sometimes there is a tight timeline and the message does not get across correctly. He said that
