Acceptance of Conservation Easement Assignment from the Triangle
Land Conservancy -Jeffrey and Angela Fisher
The Board considered authorizing acceptance of a conservation easement
assignment from the Triangle Land conservancy for land awned by Jeffrey and Angela
Fisher along New Hope Creek, and the subsequent assignment of the easement to the
State of North Carolina; and authorizing the Chair to sign.
Rich Shaw from the Environment and Resource Conservation Department
said that these were being paid for with State money and no County money. In
September, the Board authorized staff to pursue two conservation easements along
New Hope Creek. One was to protect land owned by Trinity School and one was to
protect land awned by the Brawn family, where the old Hollow Rack Store used to be.
These are partnership projects with the Triangle Land Conservancy. There were a
couple of changes that warranted the items being placed on the consent agenda again.
One was the Brown tract changed ownership, so the actual easement will be with the
Fisher family with the same terms. The other changes were some technical
amendments to the documents recommended by the County Attorney. The
amendments were highlighted and marked.
Both of the recommendations for items g and h are the same.
A motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner
Carey to authorize the Chair to sign the conservation easement assignment documents
for Jeffrey and Angela Fisher.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS
