Proclamations/ Resolutions/ Special Presentations <br />Oranqe Countv Arts Grant Recipients <br />The Board presented checks to local artists and arts organizations receiving Orange County Arts <br />Grants. <br />Martha Shannon, staff support for the Orange County Arts Commission, gave out checks. In the <br />fall 2011 grant cycle, the Orange County Arts Commission received 19 grant requests. They <br />awarded a total of $23,251 in County funds for arts projects proposed by nine non-profit <br />organizations, five schools, and three individual artists. <br />Recipients: <br />A.L. NC 10% Campaiqn - Helpinq to Build North Carolina's Local Food Economy <br />The Board received a presentation from the Center for Environmental Farming Systems at N.C. <br />State University on the NC 10% Campaign to help build North Carolina's Local Food Economy. <br />Teisha Wymore, State Coordinator, NC 10% Campaign, Center for Environmental Farming <br />Systems, North Carolina State University, made this presentation. This is a local foods initiative <br />that is founded by the Center for Environmental Farming Systems and funded through Golden <br />Leaf Foundation. It was launched in July 2010. The intent of the campaign is to track the <br />demand for local food in North Carolina. This is done through partnerships and through the <br />
