Commissioner Jacobs asked if they would be separate meetings <br />Martha Shannon, Orange County Arts Commission Director, said that the information they <br />submitted is background information and it does include two separate art selection <br />committees (one is for the Homestead Aquatics Center and one for the Southern <br />Community Park project). <br />Chair Brown asked what the time frame for the meetings would be. <br />Ms. Shannon said that the Aquatics Project would hold their first meeting before <br />Thanksgiving and Kate Billings of the Chapel Hill Arts Commission said that the Public Arts <br />meeting will also take place before Thanksgiving. She said that they feel that there will be a <br />total of three {3) meetings total each committee and that they would probably be evening <br />meetings (approximately 90.minutes). The next two meetings will be held in <br />FebruarylMarch of 2004. <br />Chair Brown suggested that they look at the Board's calendar for conflicting meeting times <br />and that this will be placed on the November 20t" work session agenda. <br />10. Closed Session <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to <br />go into closed session at 10:30 p.m. for the purpose of: <br />"To discuss the County's position and to instruct the County Manager and County Attorney <br />on the negotiating position regarding the terms of contracts to purchase real property, <br />including but not limited to property owned by RT Holdings, LLC and located in the <br />Meadowlands, for any and all county uses, property awned by Mark and Lori Volpe and <br />located at the confluence of the West Forks and east fork of the Eno, northwest of <br />Hillsborough, for conservation purposes. " NCGS ~ 143-318.11 {a)(5). <br />"To consult with the County Attorney in order to preserve the attorney-client privilege <br />between the County Attorney and the Board. N.C. Gen Stat. § 143-318.11 (a) (3). <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner Barry <br />Jacobs to reconvene into regular session at 11:15 p.m. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />12.
