2012-2017 Orange County Master Aging Plan <br />Objective 2.6: Protect and increase the provision of ineal assistance services in Orange <br />County. <br />^ Stratepy 2.6.1: Expand home-delivered meal services to more individuals and areas of the county <br />that are in need of this service. <br />Indicator 2.6.1 a: Technical assistance to local organizations, such as congregations, <br />neighborhoods, and service groups, interested in increasing food assistance options <br />available to older adults. <br />Indicator 2_.6._1_b: More volunteers recruited and trained to assist with meal preparation <br />nnd/or meal delivery. <br />Indicator 2.b.lc: Organizations, such as the Department of Social Services and the <br />Sheriff's Office, identify and refer adults in need of ineal assistance services to local meal <br />service providers. <br />A.gencies._Res~ansible: Department on Aging, in collaboration with existing meal service <br />agencies, such as Chapel Hill/Carrboro Meals on Wheels and Orange Congregations In <br />Mission (OCIM) and other organizations <br />Objective 2.7: Expand in-home and community respite support services that enable <br />Orange County residents to age in place. <br />^ Strateqy 2.7.1: Encourage faith-based groups to provide respite services to caregivers through <br />programs like Caregiver Day Out, as currently provided at the Seymour Center, to other locations in <br />Orange County. <br />Indicator 2.7.1 a: Technical assistance offered to faith-based groups to provide respite <br />services to caregivers. <br />Indicator_ 2_.7.1__b: More caregivers provided respite services through faith-based groups. <br />Agencies Responsible: Department on Aging, in collaboration with faith-based groups, <br />Triangle J Area Agency on Aging, and other community groups <br />25 <br />
