Location Map <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Glenn Bowles, Planner II, 245-2577 <br />Craig Benedict, Director, 245-2585 <br />PURPOSE: To continue a public hearing on a proposed Unified Development Ordinance <br />(UDO) text amendment concerning the creation of the NC Highway 57 Speedway Area Rural <br />Economic Development Area Conditional Zoning (REDA-CZ-1) District to the Board of <br />Commissioners' June 5, 2012 regular meeting. <br />BACKGROUND: This item was presented at the February 27, 2012 Quarterly Public Hearing <br />where the hearing was adjourned to May 1, 2012 to allow for Planning Board review. This item <br />was first reviewed by the Planning Board at its April 4, 2012 regular meeting. <br />There has been insufficient time to obtain the necessary approved meeting minutes, address <br />and incorporate recommended changes, and complete the required abstract package for the <br />BOCC May 1, 2012 meeting. <br />The public hearing needs to be extended to June 5, 2012 to allow staff the time to ensure all <br />necessary information is available for review by the BOCC. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact from the rescheduling of this item. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board: <br />1. Open the public hearing, and <br />2. Adjourn the hearing to the Board's June 5, 2012 regular meeting to receive the Planning <br />Board recommendation. <br />
