If the amendment was approved, what process would a proposed <br />telecommunication tower 199 feet in height have to go through? <br />STAFF COMMENT: Such a request would be reviewed and acted upon <br />by the Board of Adjustment as a Class B Special Use Permit request. <br />b. Are telecommunication facilities still required to provide an Environmental <br />Assessment and demonstrate compliance with the County's natural area <br />inventory? <br />STAFF COMMENT: Section 2.7.3 (B) Application Requirements of the <br />UDO requires Special Use Permit applicants (i.e. both Class A and B <br />applications) to submit documentation detailing compliance with Section <br />6.16 Environmental lmpact Reports of the UDO. <br />This section requires documentation detailing how the proposed project <br />will not impact identified natural areas on the property as detailed within <br />either of the following documents: `An Inventory of Sites of Cultural, <br />Historic, Recreational, Biological, and Geological Significance in the <br />Unincorporated Portions of Orange County" and `Inventory of the Natural <br />Areas and Wildlife Habitats of Orange County, North Carolina'. <br />Staff believes the existing language is sufficient to ensure protection of <br />identified natural areas. <br />c.
