30 <br />Changed to (Planning Board): <br />Notwithstanding the above provisions of.this Section 6.18, <br />tetecornications towers in existence as of (date of <br />Ordinance adoption), may be replaced with a tower of equal or less visual <br />impact after approval by the County Planning Director or his /her designee. <br />However, if the proposed new tower would not be consistent with the <br />minimum standards under this Section 6.18, replacement must be <br />approved as provided for in this Ordinance. <br />Administration Recommendation: Same as Planning Board <br />3. Section 6.18.3 (Antennas Not Located on Telecommunications Towers), Subsection <br />e) Paragraph 7 <br />Change from (Staff): <br />Antenna and /or microwave dishes may be located on poles owned or <br />controlled by the County <br />appileable) OF PeI8S County pursuant to the following <br />regulations: <br />a) The maximum height of the pole with antenna or <br />dish shall not exceed seventy (70) feet in height; and <br />b) The utility poles shall be located on public property, within <br />public easements, or public rights -of -way. <br />C) The antenna and/or dish shall be of a size and placement that <br />is structurally compatible with the engineering design of the <br />pole pursuant to the North Carolina State Building Code and <br />attested to by a professional engineer certified in <br />telecommunications facility design, and competent to evaluate <br />antenna choices. <br />d) The antenna or dishes shall not extend more than ten (10) feet <br />above the existing pole height. If the pole is replaced to <br />withstand the addition of telecommunications equipment, then <br />the same restriction shall apply except that the utility pole may <br />be twenty (20) feet higher than the adjacent pole heights. <br />e) Placement of an antenna and /or a dish on a utility pole shall <br />only be on poles owned or operated by a public utility <br />authorized to operate in the County, a County franchisee, or <br />Orange County. <br />
