Commissioner Halkiotis pointed out that the adoption of new state building code in <br />January requires staff to look at more items. He asked Craig Benedict to bring back the <br />additional workload that has been put an the staff as a result of the new building code and what <br />this means in the future. <br />Chair Brawn asked John Link to set a time to cancel and re-schedule the public hearing <br />on Thursday. John Link said that 12:00 p.m. tomorrow should reveal a goad indication of where <br />the storm will be going. <br />County Attorney Geof Gledhill said that if the idea of the Board will be to postpone it to <br />another time, then the meeting tonight could be adjourned to a meeting tomorrow so that it can <br />be kept alive without noticing another meeting. The Board could meet by conference call <br />tomorrow at noon, for example. <br />The Board agreed to have a conference call at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow to set a new time <br />and date for the Thursday public hearing. <br />5. RESOLUTIONS OR PROCLAMATIONS <br />a. Resolution -Recognition of Dr. Nels Anderson and Dr. Nancy Anderson and <br />the Holden-Roberts Farm's Listing in the National Register of Historic Places <br />The Board considered recognizing Drs. Nels and Nancy Anderson for their <br />achievement in having their property, the Holden-Roberts Farm, listed in the National Register <br />of Historic Places. <br />Preservation Planner Tina Moon read the resolution. She said that she hopes this is <br />the beginning of efforts to formally recognize local achievement in historic preservation. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner Barry <br />Jacobs to approve and authorize the Chair to sign the resolution as stated below: <br />RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION <br />for <br />Dr. NELS ANDERSON & Dr. NANCY ANDERSON <br />WHEREAS, Drs. Nels and Nancy Anderson have been long-time residents of Orange <br />County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Andersons have been active stewards of the Holden-Roberts Farm for <br />over thirty-five {35} years; and <br />WHEREAS, the Andersons have maintained the Holden-Roberts Farm in a way that <br />preserved its architectural character and historic significance; and <br />WHEREAS, the Andersons have successfully undergone the rigorous process to have <br />their property recognized through listing in the National Register of Historic Places; and <br />WHEREAS, the Andersons have also encouraged the preservation of the cultural and <br />archaeological resources along St. Mary's Road and the surrounding community; <br />
