RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />TO CREATE A MASTER TELECOMMUNICATIONS PLAN <br />WHEREAS, It is vital to Orange County's long -term economic health that wireless <br />telecommunication systems are developed throughout the County and are made accessible and <br />affordable to the County's residents, businesses, and visitors; and <br />WHEREAS, Wireless telecommunications have proven invaluable in many emergencies, <br />including use by public safety personnel; and <br />WHEREAS, Inadequate wireless service exists in certain areas of the County; and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County is an exceptional place, rich in scenic beauty and replete with <br />natural, historic, environmental, and cultural resources which contribute to a high quality of <br />living and a thriving tourism business; and <br />WHEREAS, The siting and design of wireless telecommunication systems can have significant <br />land use implications; and <br />WHEREAS, Certain design techniques and land use regulations can be implemented to <br />ameliorate or mitigate adverse impacts often associated with wireless telecommunication systems <br />without diminishing service; <br />THEREFORE, THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLVES, <br />That basic wireless telecommunication services are available to all those who want it, through an <br />infrastructure, which is developed based upon legitimate need and implemented in a way that is <br />sensitive to community concerns. <br />C:\Docutnents and SettingsWdministrator\Local Settings \Temp\Att 4- Resolution to Create MTP.DOC <br />
