Year-To-Date Budget <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year <br /> 2011-12. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Aging <br /> 1. The Department on Aging has received notification of the following changes in revenue: <br /> • Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) — receipt of $5,000 from individuals <br /> and business sponsor tables to help offset the costs of the annual RSVP <br /> Recognition Luncheon. <br /> • Class Fees — additional class fees to be collected this fiscal year, based upon <br /> revenues received through March 2012, the department anticipates receiving <br /> $15,000 in additional class fees, which will fund course instructors and purchase <br /> program supplies. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds for the above stated <br /> purposes. (See Attachment 1, column 1) <br /> Social Services <br /> 2. The Department of Social Services has received the following additional revenue: <br /> • Adolescent Parenting Program — The department has received funding for <br /> participation in a study conducted by the University of North Carolina — Chapel <br /> Hill to help teen parents build a support community through the use of social <br /> media. The department has received a total of $475 for the adolescent parenting <br /> program. <br />
