Length of service is limited to two consecutive three-year terms(or any combination <br /> of full terms totaling six years). This time period does not include state mandated <br /> training programs or partial terms. Appointment to serve for any actual period of <br /> two (2)years or more will constitute a full term. Appointment for any actual period <br /> of less than two (2)years will constitute a partial or unexpired term. <br /> C. Composition <br /> 1. The Visitors Bureau is to be comprised of individuals from hotels, attractions, <br /> restaurants, government, chambers of commerce, high school athletics association, <br /> University of North Carolina and each municipality in Orange County.Committees: <br /> a. The Executive Committee is comprised of a Chair; Finance Chair; Marketing <br /> Chair and Nominating Committee Chair. Said officers shall be elected to <br /> one-year terms and shall serve not more than two consectutive such terms. <br /> The Visitors Bureau appointments committees to further study hotel trends, <br /> tourism marketing and festivals and events. The charge of special <br /> committees is to recommend guidelines for allocating funds in a strategic <br /> and transparent manner. <br /> 2. The Visitors Bureau is composed of Twelve(12)voting members. <br /> 3. The Visitors Bureau is composed of four(4) ex-officio members, including economic <br /> development representatives of: Chapel Hill, Downtown Chapel Hill Partnership, <br /> Carrboro Economic Development,one at-large position for institutional memory. <br /> 4. Members shall represent (demographic, geographic, cultural and professional <br /> characteristics). <br /> 5. Up to four ex officio members appointed by the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners may serve one year or until they are reappointed or the <br /> appointment of their successors. <br /> SECTION IV. MEETINGS <br /> A. Staffing <br /> 1. An appointed member of the Visitors Bureau serves as the recording secretary for <br /> purposes of keeping minutes. Orange County staff may serve other support <br /> functions to the Visitors Bureau upon the approval of the Orange County Manager. <br /> B. Agendas <br /> 2. Items for agendas shall be approved by the Visitors Bureau Chair and staff. <br /> SECTION V. ORIENTATION <br /> A. Attendance <br /> 1. Each member shall attend an orientation presented by the Executive Director for <br /> the Visitors Bureau to familiarize the advisory board members with the operation of <br /> County government, the Visitors Bureau department rules, and the operating <br />
