VOTE: Ayes, 3 (Commissioner Jacobs, Commissioner Carey, and Commissioner Gordan}; <br />Nays, 2 (Commissioner Halkiotis and Chair Brown) <br />Jahn Link said that the staff is going to came back with the alternative sites that are <br />identified and the pros and cons. The staff is also going to share with the Board what other <br />alternatives there are to running an animal shelter in North Carolina. The staff will also come <br />back with a timeframe from the date they receive the HSUS report and a date for a public <br />meeting. <br />Commissioner Jacobs said that he would like more information on the public <br />component of the facility and how transparent the operations should be. <br />b. Resolution in Support of Continued Regional Bus Service to Rural Orange <br />County <br />The Board considered a proposed resolution that would provide for the continuation <br />of the Triangle Transit Authority {TTA} bus service from Hillsborough to DurhamlDuke Hospital, <br />and to authorize the Chair to sign. <br />Assistant County Manager Gwen Harvey gave an introduction to the resolutions. <br />The resolution is a result of an action from the TTA board regarding the possible elimination of <br />the service route from Hillsborough to Durham/Duke. The staff prepared a possible proposal <br />that could be presented to TTA staff as to haw the service could be continued. The resolution <br />provides the platform for these conversations. <br />Commissioner Jacobs said that the wrong resolution was in the agenda packet. He <br />pointed out his edited version.
