Fikes, ~:xt 2490 <br />Bid Results <br />Work Specifications TELEPHONE NUMBER~: <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To award one housing rehabilitation contract for the HOM1= and three contracts for <br />the CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Program respectively. <br />BACKGROUND: The Housing and Community Developrnent Department solicited bids from <br />qualified housing rehabilitation contractors participating in the County s Housing Rehabilitation <br />Program. The informal bidding process is governed by the North C:arolina General Statues <br />§143-131 and does not require a minimum number of bids. Additionally, present program <br />procedures provide that housing rehabilitation contracts be awarded i:o the lowest responsible <br />bidder. Additionally, all contractors participating in the County's Re~habilitation Program are <br />required to utilize current deconstruction and material recycling mE;thods during the repair <br />process. <br />Sealed bids were solicited from participating contractors on May 22 and 28, 2002 and June 17 <br />and 24, 2002. Bid results are attached. Three bids were received far each potential contract <br />with Taylor Home Improvement Company, Triple J Construction Company, William Long <br />Construction Company, submitting the lowest bid respectively. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The HOME and CDBG Programs provide total iunding for the contracts. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends awarding the following housing <br />rehabilitation contracts: <br />Dwelling Unit Bid Amount Contractor <br />6803 High Rock Rd., Mebane $14,220 Ta~~lor Home Improvements <br />112 Eugene Street, Carrboro $27,395 Tri~~le J Construction Co. <br />8809 Harmony Church Rd., Mebane $32,645 William Long Construction <br />222 Collins Ave., Hillsborough $31,910 Tri~~le J Construction Co. <br />
