Surti, PE,BGMPO Coordinator NCDOT- Transportation Planning Branch Subject: Mebane Growth/Proposed Boundary Issue A meeting was held at the Mebane City Hall on February 22, 2012 to discuss Mebane's future growth and consideration of a proposed MAB between Burlington-Graham MPO (BGMPO) and Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro MPO (DCHC). Based on the discussions with all attendees the following items were agreed upon: • The utility agreement between Mebane and Orange County is still in the works. • The new Census Data will be released in April 2012. • BGMPO, DCHC,Mebane, and Orange County representatives all agreed the proposed Boundary Line is acceptable(shown in brown on attached map). Tom Altieri will present this map to the Orange County Board for their approval in the near future. If not agreed on by the Board, the differences will be ironed out between Mebane and Orange County during a separate meeting. • Burlington-Graham and DCHC MPOs will not take any action prior to proposed boundary being approved by the Orange County Board. • Orange County has sent a request to be added to BGMPO's current MOU. BGMPO TCC and TAC members will consider their acceptance at the next council meeting to be held in March or April. Once these items are completed and the census urbanized area designation is released, a meeting, if required, may be scheduled as a follow up to update these matters.
