Benton Drive NCDOT Documentation <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Darcy Zorio, 245-2582 <br />Tom Altieri, 245-2575 <br />Craig Benedict, 245-2585 <br />PURPOSE: To make a recommendation to the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation (NCDOT) concerning petitions to add subdivision road(s) in Fox Hill Farm - <br />Central Subdivision (Farm Gate Drive and Lee Fox Lane) and Tanglewood Acres (E. <br />Benton Drive) to the State Maintained Secondary Road System. <br />BACKGROUND: This request includes 3(three) petitions for road additions to the State <br />Maintained Secondary Road System. The road(s) are as follows: <br />1. Fox Hill Farm - Central Subdivision (Farm Gate Drive) - Attachment 1a <br />The requested road addition is about 0.10 miles long. No houses have entrances to the <br />road submitted for addition; however, the road serves as a collector for Windflower Place <br />and Lee Fox Lane. Farm Gate Drive is located about 0.80 miles north of the intersection of <br />St. Mary's Road and Lawrence Road. <br />Fox Hill Farm - Central Subdivision was approved by the Board of Commissioners on <br />December 11, 2001. On May 17, 2011, the Board of Commissioners approved a Revision <br />to the Resolution of Approval to address the mitigation of environmental conditions <br />discovered on a portion of the open space. The approval of this revision did not alter the <br />nature, scope, or location of the approved roadway and does not impact the request for <br />Farm Gate D.rive to be accepted by NCDOT for maintenance purposes. <br />NCDOT has investigated these requests and has submitted petitions to the BOCC for its <br />recommendation (Attachment 1 b). <br />2. Fox Hill Farm - Central Subdivision (Lee Fox Lane) - Attachment 2a <br />The requested road addition is about 0.15 miles long. Five (5) houses have entrances to <br />the road submitted for addition. Lee Fox Lane is located about 1 mile north of the <br />intersection of St. Mary's Road and Lawrence Road. <br />
