General Statute 153A-95, the Board of <br />Commissioners established the Personnel Advisory Board to serve as a hearing board for an <br />employee appeal of a dismissal, disciplinary suspension or disciplinary demotion. <br />As part of considering appointments to the Personnel Advisory Board at the March 19, 2002 <br />Board of Commissioners meeting, the Board of Commissioners asked the Personnel Director to <br />bring back to the Board for consideration a Personnel Ordinance revision to change the name <br />of the Personnel Advisory Board to the "Personnel Hearing Board". The purpose of the name <br />change is to clarify that the function of the Board is to serve as a hearing board for an employee <br />appeal of a dismissal, disciplinary suspension or disciplinary demotion. ~ <br />The attached draft Personnel Ordinance revision changes the name of the Personnel Advisory <br />Board to the Personnel Hearing Board. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the attached <br />Personnel Ordinance revision effective June 4, 2002. ~ <br />
