Chair Brown said that the word "addiction" was not used and she asked why. Rorie Summers said that it is atwo-pronged approach. One is to take care of kids who are already addicted and the other piece is prevention. A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by Commissioner Carey to approve the Manager's recommendation, with additional language with the first bullet of the Manager's recommendation as follows: "with the provision that the Commissioners will review the grant outcomes each year." The Manager's recommendation is as follows: - Approve receipt of the grant and approve the establishment of the Grant Project Ordinance for a period of three years, with the provision that the Commissioners will review the grant outcomes each year - Authorize a new grant-funded Senior Public Health Educator position far project implementation with continuation of the position after the three-year grant-funded period being contingent on Board of Commissioners decision, and - Authorize the Board Chair to sign the grant agreement with the North Carolina Health and Wellness Trust Commission UOTE: UNANIMOUS d.
