~ Orange County Personnel Ordinance Issue Date: January 25, 2011 <br />-Pay at the employee's hourly rate for hours worked during an official <br />closing in addition to regular pay is granted to FLSA non-exempt <br />employees re uired to work when the offices are officially closed due to <br />hazardous weather. <br />*Employees of the Sheriff's Department and Emergency Management Services <br />are not covered by this section and operate under the respective department's <br />hazardous weather plan. <br />4.0 Holidays and Holiday Pay <br />This policy covers the observance and payment of holidays. <br />4.1 Holidavs <br />Orange County grants 11 holidays each year as follows: <br />New Year's Day <br />Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday <br />Easter Holiday <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Day after Thanksgiving <br />Christmas (3 days) <br />4.2 Holiday S~hedule Amencled <br />O1/Oi/93 <br />The holiday schedule is issued on a calendar year basis to each department head. <br />Department heads post and advise employees of the holiday schedule. <br />4.3 Holiday Pay <br />4.3.1 The County provides Holiday Pay for Permanent employees, both Full <br />Time and Part Time (regularly scheduled at least 20 hours each <br />workweek). This includes an employee appointed to a permanent position <br />serving a probationary p~riod. <br />4.3.2 Temporary employees do not receive pay for a holiday not worked. <br />4.3.3 Holiday Pay is the equivalent of the straight time pay for the employee's <br />regular daily work hours. <br />Examples <br />For an employee regularly Holiday Pay is the strai~ <br />Article IV - Page 2 <br />
