ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> RESOLUTION HONORING MARCIA ARGO, AN ORANGE COUNTY SCHOOLS <br /> ELEMENTARY TEACHER, ON HER APPROXIMATELY FIFTY YEARS OF <br /> SERVICE IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION <br /> WHEREAS, Marcia Argo, an Orange County Schools teacher at Efland-Cheeks Elementary <br /> School, has served approximately fifty (50) years in the field of education; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Mrs. Argo retired from State of Georgia Public School Systems in 1985 after more <br /> than 33 years of instructional service and has since served Orange County Schools, including <br /> the last 13 years in a teaching position at Efland-Cheeks Elementary; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Mrs. Argo pursued and received an undergraduate degree from Piedmont College <br /> in northeast Georgia, a Masters of Education from the University of Georgia, a 6th year Degree <br /> of Education from the University of Georgia, and completed coursework toward a Doctorate, all <br /> while raising a family of three daughters; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Mrs. Argo achieved Life Certification in Education from the State of Georgia, has <br /> pursued continuing education and rigorously maintained her re-certification, and continues to <br /> teach and voluntarily tutor today's youth beyond the classroom hours to ensure that students <br /> progress toward their goals; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, do we, the Board of Commissioners for Orange County, North Carolina <br /> hereby recognize and honor Mrs. Marcia Argo for her many years of dedication and service to <br /> the education of youth in the State of Georgia and here in Orange County, and express our <br /> appreciation to her for her efforts in support of the educational needs of students in Orange <br /> County. <br /> This the second day of April, 2002. <br /> Barry J s, it <br /> Oran ounty B a of ommissioners <br />
