Observation of persistent cough or lethargy as well as an <br /> inquiry to unintentional weight loss, night sweats and known <br /> exposure to TB <br /> - Inquiry as in known communicable diseases including <br /> Sexually transmitted disease. <br /> Condition of skin including, trauma markings, bruises, <br /> lesions, jaundice, rashes and infestations and needle marks <br /> or other indications of drug abuse. <br /> Status classification to succinctly identify the inmate's health <br /> status. <br /> Referral of the ,inmate for emergency health services or <br /> additional health services, as may be necessary. <br /> If as a result of the receiving screening it is apparent that an inmate <br /> requires medical attention, then the inmate will immediately be referred to <br /> on-call or on-site medical staff for assessment and treatment as indicated. <br /> The appropriate level of treatment (i.e. treatment in-house by a member of <br /> the professional health services staff or referral to a hospital or other <br /> community-based health service) should be made after a thorough <br /> evaluation of the inmate's condition. <br /> Health care standards require that information regarding access to health <br /> care services be communicated orally and in writing to inmates upon their <br /> arrival at the correctional facility. To meet these standards, SHP. will use <br /> notices, printed in both English and Spanish.
