Orange County Detention Center <br /> Detention Center Health Plan <br /> The compliance with this Detention Center Health Plan is the joint responsibility <br /> of the Orange County Health Department, the Orange County Sheriff, and <br /> Southern Health Partners, Inc., the contracted provider of care to the inmates <br /> of the Orange County Detention Center. <br /> It is understood Southern Health Partners, Inc. has specific Policies and <br /> Procedures, which serve.as standing orders, for inmate health services on-site <br /> within the medical unit. These policies and procedures can be reviewed by the <br /> Orange County Health Department Director and the Orange County Sheriff <br /> at any time. <br /> Receiving Screening <br /> Upon the arrival of each inmate at the Orange County Detention Center, <br /> a preliminary health assessment (Receiving Screening) will be performed <br /> by correctional officers. <br /> At a minimum, the assessment will include the following: <br /> Documentation of current illnesses and health problems <br /> including medications taken and special health <br /> requirements. <br /> Documentation of mental health problems, dental problems <br /> and allergies. <br /> Behavior observation, including state of consciousness, <br /> mental status, appearance, conduct, tremors, sweating. <br /> Inquiry into use of alcohol and other drugs, including types, <br /> methods, date/time last taken and problems arising out of <br /> use. <br /> - Notation of body deformities and ease of movement. <br />
