ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: March 13, 2012 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 5 - I <br />SUBJECT: Authorization to Declare Items Surplus <br />DEPARTMENT: Asset Management Services PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />Department (AMS) and Solid <br />Waste Management <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Pam Jones, 245-2652 <br />Gayle Wilson, 968-2885 <br />PURPOSE: To consider declaring finro pieces of heavy equipment surplus for disposal through <br />GovDeals. <br />BACKGROUND: The Director of Asset Management Services is authorized to declare items <br />valued up to $5,000 as surplus. Currently the Solid Waste Department has the following two <br />pieces of equipment that were replaced this fiscal year and are no longer needed. Therefore it <br />is requested that these items be sold. tt is anticipated both will exceed the $5,000 threshold. <br /> Asset <br />E ui ment Year Number Serial/VIN <br />Case Wheel <br />Loader 1997 569 JEE0055149 <br />Volvo Frt Loader 1999 1072 4VMDCMPF1XN774396 <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Proceeds from the sale of these items, less any applicable fees, will be <br />returned to the Solid Waste Enterprise Fund. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: 1) declare the items <br />surplus; and 2) authorize the AMS Director to affect the sale of the items through GovDeals. <br />
