Orange County Personnel Ordinance Issue Date: January 25, 2011 <br />Class titles are used in all personnel, accounting and budget records. No employee <br />will be appointed to a position under a title not included in the position <br />classification plan. <br />Working titles may be used in the course of departmental business to facilitate <br />operations. <br />4.3 Class Specifications <br />4.3.1 The plan includes a written specification for each class of positions. <br />4.3.2 Each specification includes: <br />-A descriptive title for the class, <br />-A summary statement of the type of work, <br />- Illustrative examples of tasks, <br />- Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job, <br />-The job - related minimum education and experience requirements <br />and <br />-Any other special requirements. <br />4.3.3 Specifications are interpreted in their entirety in relation to others in the <br />classification plan. They are descriptive and explanatory of the kind and <br />level of work performed and are not necessarily inclusive of all duties <br />performed. <br />4.3.4 The class specification establishes the minimum recruitment standards for <br />appointment to a position in that class. <br />5.0 Responsibilities Amended <br />01/20/11 <br />5.1 Board of County Commissioners <br />5.1.1 A permanent position may be established or eliminated by the Board of <br />County Commissioners. <br />5.1.2 A permanent increase or reduction in hours of an established permanent <br />part time position requires approval of the Board of County <br />Commissioners. <br />5.1.3 Adopts the Position Classification Plan annually. <br />Article VI - Page 2 <br />
