Orange County Personnel Ordinance Issue Date: January 25, 2011 <br />Article VI <br />/- ab =z0 1 l <br />The Position Classification Plan <br />1.0 Purpose <br />Amended <br />The position classification plan: U==Ll <br />- Provides the basis for an equitable pay plan. <br />- Supports employee recruitment, retention and employee relations programs. <br />- Supports performance reviews under the Work Planning and Performance <br />Review (WPPR) program. <br />- Supports planning, budgeting and organizational development. <br />- Provides uniform job terminology understandable by County officials, employees <br />and the general public. <br />-Makes possible compliance with the law and policy as to equal opportunity and <br />equal pay for equal work. <br />2.0 Coverage <br />The position classification plan applies to permanent positions, both full time and part <br />time, except those exempted under Article I, Section 2.0 of this Ordinance. <br />3.0 Policy <br />It is the policy of Orange County to maintain a current position classification plan. <br />4.0 Plan Definition <br />The position classification plan consists of the position classifications themselves, class <br />specifications and allocation of classes to salary grades list. <br />4.1 Classes <br />Classes are groupings of positions so similar in duties and responsibilities that <br />they justify common treatment as to class title, salary grade and other employment <br />processes. <br />4.2 Class Titles <br />Article VI - Page 1 <br />
