A motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Brown to excuse Commissioner Jacobs from item 9-c. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> C. Bid Award: Two Multi-family Recycling Trucks for Recycling Operations <br /> The Board considered awarding a bid to Lodal-South of Rockingham for two <br /> trucks for the multi-family recycling program at a cost of$107,333 for each vehicle. <br /> Assistant County Manager Rod Visser said that the bid award for two trucks <br /> is related to the Board's approval during the budget process of bringing the multi-family <br /> recycling program in house. The reason for doing this is the anticipated savings of about <br /> $1 million in ten years by bringing the program in house. This will be brought in house <br /> by these two trucks and four additional staff members approved by the Board. The <br /> trucks will be financed through CCB at a rate of 3.75%. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Brown to: <br /> 1. Award Bid Number 242 in the amount of$214,666 to Local-South of <br /> Rockingham, North Carolina for two G-S Products 5042S bodies mounted on 2003 <br /> International 7400 truck cabs and chassis for use in the multi-family recycling program; <br /> 2. Authorize the Purchasing Director to execute the necessary paperwork; <br /> and <br /> 3. Authorize the Finance Director and Attorney to execute appropriate <br /> documents to include the financing of this equipment with the previously approved solid <br /> waste equipment being financed through Central Carolina Bank. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> d. Review and Consideration of the Southern Park Conceptual Plan <br /> Committee Report <br /> The Board was to review and consider the report of the Southern Park <br /> Conceptual Plan Committee. <br /> Postponed <br /> e.
