Alderman Slade said that there are communities that are pursuing the zero waste <br />option. He said that the issue with this technology is that it would have to be paid off, but <br />conservation is contrary to the business model. He cautioned against the high-tech model. <br />Commissioner Yuhasz said that this technology is roughly a$20 million investment and <br />the payback is five to six years. <br />Alderman Coleman said that it would be important to evaluate the technologies that <br />would be contrary to further waste reduction.
