MDC is a social justice non-profit that demonstrates how programs and practices can bridge the gap between opportunity and those left behind by the changing economy. I have experience in writing and judging grant proposals and applications as well as planning and overseeing peer-learning events (conferences and summits) as small as 20 profession~ls in attendance and as large as 1,400. Prior to my work at MDC, I was a fundraising director for a campaign for the Florida State House. Volunteer Experience: Most recently I've fostered dogs. Through 2002 I volunteered for Girl Scouts and worked with young girls as well as young women. Since my arrival in North Carolina in 2006, healt~ reasons have kept me from volunteering, but I'm better now and would like to be more active in my community.
