That
4 may have already been discussed.
5 Tony Whitaker: I can add some color to that if you wish. Thank you for that comment. It is a
6 consideration. I would say that in the discussions over the two and a half year period that you
7 heard mentioned, a lot of talk surrounding the location of the ball field and the orientation of the
8 ball field occurred. Essentially, the orientation that shows on the site plan now is the preferred
9 orientation for dealing with sun issues, etc., and it is also the orientation that the current ball field
10 on another part of the site enjoys. The school understands that orientation, they're used to it,
11 and they know how to plan their activities regarding that ball field. So, it is important from the
12 school's perspective to maintain that configuration. There are other meaningful ways to address
13 this concern, and the school is absolutely committed to doing that.
14
15 Chair Pelissier: There are four recommendations from the Planning Director. I'll entertain a
16 motion.
17 Commissioner Foushee: I move that we refer the matter to the Planning Board with a request
18 that a recommendation be returned to the Board of County Commissioners in time for the
19 February 21, 2012 BOCC regular meeting.
20 Commissioner Hemminger seconded.
21 VOTE: UNANIMOUS
22 Chair Pelissier: I believe we need another motion.
23 Commissioner McKee: I move we adjourn the public hearing until February 21, 2012 in order
24 to receive and accept the Planning Board recommendation and any submitted written
25 comments.
26 Commissioner Hemminger seconded.
25
27 VOTE: UNANIMOUS
