Location Map <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Perdita Holtz, Planning Systems <br />Coordinator, 245-2578 <br />Craig Benedict, Planning Director, <br />245-2592 <br />PURPOSE: To consider the legal adve~tisement for items to be presented at the Joint Planning <br />Area (JPA) Public Hearing scheduled for March 29, 2012. <br />BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners reviews proposals to be considered at <br />public hearing for consistency with general County policy and presentation format. The following <br />item is scheduled for the March 29, 2012 JPA Public Hearing: <br />1. St. Paul Village - Chapel Hill Joint Planning Transition Area Zoning Atlas Amendment <br />The legal advertisement at Attachment 1 provides additional information regarding this item. <br />The zoning atlas amendment requires approval by both the BOCC and Chapel Hill Town <br />Council. Orange County's role includes the review of the rezoning as it relates to the <br />consistency with the jointly adopted land use plan. <br />The project also involves issuance of a Special Use Permit (SUP) but, per the JPA Agreement, <br />the BOCC does not consider SUP applications that are submitted to the Town(s). The Town of <br />Chapel Hill will be conducting a separate, but concurrent, process for the SUP application. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Other than advertising costs, which are included in the FY 2011-12 <br />Budget, there are no direct financial impacts associated with the approval of this item. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board approve the proposed March <br />29, 2012 JPA Public Hearing legal advertisement. <br />
