82
Carolina Friends School
Traffic Impact Analysis
IX. SimTraffic Observations
SimTraffic models were run for the Build Out scenario to observe the predicted
traffic operations throughout the study area. Minimal queues are predicted
throughout the study area. According to SimTraffic, the most significant queue
on Friends School Road at Mt. Sinai Road is approximately 4 cars (92 feet) that
are expected to queue on Friends School Road. SimTraffic also indicates that
the maximum queue exiting the school driveway is approximately 4 car lengths
(94 feet). There is sufficient internal storage to accommodate exiting school
traffic on -site. Therefore, no significant queues are predicted within the study
area.
X. Recommendations
Due to the minimal additional traffic that will be added to the roadway network
and the available additional capacity along the surrounding roadway network,
no additional improvements are required as a part of the proposed
development.
This study shows that traffic generated by the proposed development will not
have a significuni impact on surrounding raadwuys and intersections. The
SimTraffic results indicate that there will not be any queuing issues in The vicinity
of the school. No improvements are required to mitigate the additional traffic
generated by the proposed development.
March 2011 Page 16
i
