79 <br />Carolina Friends School <br />Traffic Impact Analysis <br />A. Mt. Sinai Road at Friends School Road (Unsignalized) <br />Analyses indicate the unsignalized intersection of Mt. Sinai Road at Friends <br />School Road currently operates with minimal overall delays in the AM study <br />period. The stop sign controlled northbound approach operates at LOS B and <br />the stop sign controlled southbound approach operates at LOS C. There is no <br />virtually no delay on Mt. Sinai Road. <br />During the 2016 No Build Scenario, the intersection is expected to continue to <br />operate with minimal overall delays. The northbound and southbound <br />approaches operate at LOS B and D, respectively. Mt. Sinai Road will continue <br />to operate with virtually no delay. <br />During the 2016 Build Out Scenario, the intersection is expected to continue to <br />operate with minimal overall delays. The northbound and southbound <br />approaches operate at LOS C and D, ,respectively. The additional traffic adds 1 <br />second of delay to the northbound movement and 4.4 seconds of delay to the <br />southbound movement. Mt. Sinai Road will continue to operate with virtually no <br />delay. <br />According to the NCDOT, the 2009 average daily traffic volume on Mt. Sinai <br />Road was 1700 vehicles per day. Two lane roadways can theoretically carry <br />over 12,000 vehicles per day. Therefore, there is extra capacity on Mt. Sinai Road <br />to accommodate additional traffic generated by Carolina Friends School. <br />Table 3 summarizes the LOS and average delay per vehicle at the Mt.
