67
Carolina Friends School
Traffic Impact Analysis
11. Introduction
Carolina Friends School is a private school located on the west side of Friends
School Road between Mt. Sinai Road and Murphy School Road in Orange
County, North Carolina as illustrated in Figure 1. The school is planning to
construct a Performing Arts Center as well as make several smaller improvements
to the campus. These improvements will occur over the next five years, with the
first phase being the Performing Arts Center (2013 anticipated completion date).
There are currently 433 students and 85 staff at Carolina Friends School.
Although there are not plans for a large expansion, this project assumes that the
school population will be increased to 500 students and 90 staff. The current
zoning for this property is Rural Buffer. Rezoning will not be required for the
proposed improvements.
x schwa
J4'c h•$' L.fi
4y' -po.
r
proect LacaWlq
AILs
'911"PhY f A
a
j I
tv4t S "tilt fzti
a
A preliminary concept plan prepared by Civil Consultants Inc. is illustrated in
Figure 2.
March 2011 Page 1
