Benedict, AICP, Director <br />Current Planning <br />(919) 245 -2575 <br />(919) 644 -3002 (FAX) <br />www.co.orange.nc.us <br />131 West Margaret Lane <br />P0 Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough, <br />North Carolina, 27278 <br />October 25, 2011 <br />RE: NOTIFICATION of the scheduling of a Neighborhood Information Meeting to <br />discuss a proposed development project at the Carolina Friends School property at <br />4809 Friends School Road <br />In accordance with the provisions of the Orange County Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), <br />Carolina Friends School has submitted an application seeking to rezone several parcels or property to <br />a Conditional Use Zoning classification as well as the approval of a Class A Special Use Permit <br />application seeking to expand existing school operations at 4809 Friends School Road. <br />The request involves the adoption of a master development plan encumbering several properties under <br />the ownership of Carolina Friends School as well as property owned by Peter and Martha Klopfer and <br />Carolina Friends School (please see the attached map for additional detail). <br />In accordance with the provisions of the UDO, the Planning Department and the applicant are holding <br />an information meeting to provide local residents with an opportunity to review the proposal and <br />obtain a better understanding of the County's review process. <br />The meeting will be held within the Lower Level Conference Room 4 of the West Campus Office <br />Building (planning office) located at 131 West Margaret Lane in Hillsborough on November 3, 2011 <br />beginning at 1:30 p.m. <br />For more information on the project or the meeting, please contact staff at (919) 245 -2597.
