ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: February 7, 2012 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. ~ - 6 <br />SUBJECT: Follow up: General Policy for Board of County Commissioners Advisory Boards <br />DEPARTMENT: County Attorney <br />PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />General Advisory Board Policy (Track <br />Changes Format) <br />Resolution of Approval <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />John Roberts, 245-2318 <br />PURPOSE: To review the final draft of the Board-approved General Advisory Board Policy. <br />BACKGROUND: On November 10, 2011 the Board of Commissioners tentatively approved the <br />General Advisory Board Policy and authorized the County Attorney to make certain revisions <br />and bring the Policy back for formal approval. The requested revisions have been made and <br />the final document with the track changes feature engaged showing substantive changes made <br />is attached. The adoption of the attached resolution will have the effect of repealing other <br />policies governing individual advisory boards to the extent those policies conflict with the <br />General Advisory Board Policy. It will not have any impact on statutes or ordinances that have <br />created and govern advisory boards. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with review and formal approval <br />of the General Advisory Board Policy. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board consider and approve the <br />final General Advisory Board Policy document by adopting and authorizing the Chair to sign the <br />attached resolution. <br />
