Commissioner McKee said that one of the residents in Orange County was able to get a <br />new well drilled and she. was elderly and disabled. He thanked everyone involved. <br />Commissioner Gordon said that she attended a transit conference on October 18th in <br />Washington; DC and that is why she did not attend the BOCC meeting on that date. She will <br />write a more thorough report and distribute it to the BOCC. The conference was very <br />informative with respect to county and regional transit planning. <br />Commissioner Yuhasz said that he will be meeting with a Commissioner from Person <br />and Chatham Counties Monday to discuss the next steps in the merger of OPC. <br />Commissioner Yuhasz said that he was approached by a Charles Wood resident and he <br />said that the home insurance rating went from 5 to 9 because this subdivision went from the <br />Hillsborough Fire District back to the Eno Fire District. He anticipates hearing from more <br />residents regarding this. <br />Chair Pelissier said that last week she attended a biofuels conference. Also, today she <br />attended the Carol Woods Resident Association meeting and she talked about how the <br />$175,000 contribution from Carol Woods was spent. <br />14.
