66 <br />T-3-2 : Create and implement an Orange County Comprehensive Transportation <br />Plan that provides the framework for a comprehensive and connected <br />transportation system supporting a mix of transportation modes, including <br />sidewalks and bicycle facilities, bus and rail transit facilities, and highways. The <br />plan should be coordinated with the goals and objectives of this Comprehensive <br />Plan and seek to maintain and enhance community character and the natural <br />environment. <br />Identify any activities this board/commission expects to carry out in 2012 <br />as they relate to established BOCC goals and priorities. <br />If applicable, is there a fiscal impact (i.e., funding, staff time, other <br />resources) associated with these proposed activities (please list). <br />(See /tem 2 in the section after this for a statement regarding staff resources, <br />which is the primary fiscal impact associated with carrying out OUTBoard <br />activities.) <br />1. Continuation of Accomplishments 1 and 3 to complete the CTP and Safe <br />Routes to School Action Plan. (BOCC Goal 3 Priority 20) <br />2. Research parking regulations for Economic Development areas and seek <br />BOCC authorization to develop recommendations of applicable <br />amendments to the UDO to the Planning Board. (BOCC Goal 3, Priority 2: <br />Implement Comprehensive Plan (a) Rewrite zoning and subdivision <br />regulations (Unified Development Ordinance). <br />3. Begin examination of UDO Section 7.8 Access and Roadways with <br />respect to the goals and objectives of the Transportation Element of the <br />Comprehensive Plan to determine consistency, and seek BOCC <br />authorization to develop recommendations of applicable amendments to <br />the UDO to the Planning Board. (BOCC Goal 3, Priority 2: Implement <br />Comprehensive Plan (a) Rewrite zoning and subdivision regulations <br />(Unified Development Ordinance). <br />4. Orange Public Transportation system operational duties as identified by <br />the OPT Transportation Manager. <br />5. Continue to work with staff and the BOCC to recommend and monitor <br />Orange County TIP projects. <br />What are the concerns or emerging issues your board has identified for the <br />upcoming year that it plans to address, or wishes to bring to the <br />Commissioners' attention? <br />1. Funding sources for transportation projects. <br />2. Adequate level of staff support for transportation projects and initiatives <br />(BOCC and OUTBoard). <br />3. Better integration and coordination of transportation planning between rural <br />
