According to NC Dept of Commerce, nearly $150 <br />million was left by tourists to Orange County in 2009. <br />If your board/commission played the role of an Element Lead Advisory <br />Board involved in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan preparation process, <br />please indicate your board's activities/accomplishments as they may relate <br />to the Comprehensive Plan's goals or objectives. If applicable, is <br />there a fiscal impact (i.e., funding, staff time, other resources) associated <br />with these proposed activities (please list). <br />• The Visitors Bureau will continue to play a central role in the Board of <br />County Commissioners goals to commit to clean economic development, <br />job growth, diversity in businesses and growing the creative and artistic <br />cultures in Orange County. <br />• To accomplish this, the Visitors Bureau, through the occupancy tax <br />revenues, will regenerate new visitor business that impacts county wide <br />hospitality services such as hotels, restaurants, retail, attractions and <br />transportation. The goal of the Visitors Bureau is to grow jobs in this <br />
