3 <br />ORANGE COUNTY ADVISORY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />INPUT FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' ANNUAL PLANNING RETREAT <br />The Board of Commissioners welcomes input from various advisory boards and commissions <br />in preparation for its annual planning retreat. Please complete the following information, <br />limited to the front and back of this form. Other background materials may be provided as a <br />supplement to, but not as a substitute for, this form. <br />Board/Commission Name: Orange County ABC Board <br />Person to address the BOCC at Retreat (if requested by BOCC) and contact <br />information: <br />Tony DuBois <br />122 Hwy 70 East Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />919-732-3432 ext 22 <br />ocabcCa~mindspring.com <br />Primary County Staff Contacts: <br />Commissioner Earl McKee and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker <br />How many times per month does this board/commission meet, including any special <br />meetings and sub-committee meetings? <br />The Board meets once per month on the 3~d Tuesday at 8:30am <br />Provide a Brief Statement of the Boards Assigned Charge and Responsibilities. <br />The Mission of the Orange County ABC Board and our employees is to serve our locality <br />responsibly by controlling the sale of spirituous liquor, returning profits to Law Enforcement, <br />Alcohol Education, and the County Fund while providing excellent service in customer <br />friendly, modern and efficient stores. <br />What are your Board/Commission's most important accomplishments? <br />A distribution of $400,000 will be made to the Orange County General fund for fy2012. The <br />board also set aside $64,681 to contribute to the Board Retiree Health Care Plan. We will <br />distribute $120,000 to Alcohol Law Enforcement agencies including a new partnership with <br />the Hillsborough Police Department. The board also committed $105,000 to Alcohol <br />Rehabilitation and Education grants for schools and local community organizations. <br />
